The turbo rim blade has gained popularity over the past ten years and secures a stealth spot in the diamond blade category- particularly in the 4" through 10" diameters. The theory behind the turbo design is that the continuous rim gives cleaner edging and more precise cuts, while the castelations create aggression. Simply put, the continuous rim design can take significantly more abuse (i.e. being thrown in the back of a truck at the end of a day) than a traditional segmented blade. There is a much smaller chance of knocking a tooth loose or bending/tweaking a segment. While the Turbo rim will give a better, more precise finish than the traditional segmented blade, it tends to cut a bit slower- due to the amount of surface area grinding at the aggregate.
